Previously, she taught elementary school in Madison for ten years after graduating from Marywood University. She lives in Chatham with her husband Bill, also a Turpin agent, where they raised their two children. Giving back to her community is something Susan feels strongly about. She is a member of the Thursday Morning Club of Madison and serves on the board of the Friends of the Library of the Chathams. Susan enjoys gardening, reading, and traveling to visit her children.
